Baroque Académie
Showcasing unknown young singing talent during a tour of the major international theaters is the aim of Jardin des voix (Garden of Voices), the prestigious Academy created by the famous conductor William Christie. In 2007, ten singers, aged 21 to 29, took part in this unique experience with the maestro of baroque music. 10 selected from among 200 candidates. This two-part film traces the exceptional adventure, from selection to tour.
In the first part, dozens of candidates from all over the world attend auditions in Paris, New York and London. We follow the jury and the singers before and after the auditions. In part two, the chosen singers meet at the Grand Théâtre in Caen for three weeks of intensive rehearsals of a program that will tour the major theaters of Europe and the U.S.
