Alain Corneau has worked in a wide variety of genres. Never hesitating to change his style and take risks, this Orléans-born director has demonstrated his mastery in a variety of subjects that have met with public success. Nadine Trintignant’s companion of 30 years, Corneau revealed Marie Trintignant and directed Patrick Dewaere in one of his peak performances in Série noire, and did the same for Yves Montand in Police Python 351. Regularly nominated for Césars, he won seven prizes for his 1992 baroque music period drama: Tous les matins du monde, which starred Jean-Pierre Marielle and Guillaume and Gérard Depardieu.
