À droite toute
Foregrounding the automobile manufacturer Salmon and his family, the film traces the rise of the French far right from 1935 to 1939, the eve of the war. Faced with the threat the Popular Front represents for him, Salmon joins the Cagoule, a far right movement headed by Eugène Deloncle. These men, all anti-communist and anti-Semitic, plot to overthrow the Republic with, they hope, the support of the army. But the plot is revealed. At the Ministry of the Interior, cabinet secretary of Max Dormoy tells the press about the conspiracy.
