Gina Sinozich had not painted until she was 70. Since then, she has created a collection of some 300 paintings whose vitality has quickly been recognised by institutions. Gina's paintings tell of her escape from communism 48 years ago, her arrival to Australia, her return to Croatia this year for the first time, the heroism and war time experiences of the Partisans in Istria and her life, loves and family. They also tell the sad descent of her husband into dementia. Through her passion of painting, Gina has found a unique way to transform the memory and events in her life into a powerful picture of the human condition that will resonate with a wide spectrum of audiences.
