Terres promisesPromised Lands
In the north of the Neguev desert, in Israel, some 45 unrecognized bedouin villages are spread out around the outskirts of Beersheva. One of them, the Tarabin village borders a wealthy Jewish village : Omer.
To facilitate the expansion of this Jewish town—obstructed by the presence of the Bedouins—the Israeli authorities have negotiated with the tribe the displacement of their village to a site 40 km away. In an examination of the history of this Bedouin tribe and of its displacement, this documentary bears witness to the fate of third-class citizens within the State of Israel: the Bedouins of the Neguev.
