Tchétchénie : le clan KadyrovChechnya: the Kadyrov Clan
May 9, 2004. Pro-Russian Chechen president, Akhmad Kadyrov is killed by a terrorist bomb in Grosny. The very next day, Vladimir Putin names one of the dead leader’s sons, Ramzan Kadyrov, to the post of first Deputy Prime minister. Number Two head of his country, Kadyrov Jr. finds himself de facto leader of Chechnya at age 27. He is also in command of an armed militia and is suspected of terrorizing the civilian population as much as the federal army. The country hasn’t seen the last of the Kadyrovs. This reportage is an unflinching portrait of a Caucasian bruiser.
