Taru Andé o encontro do céu com a terra
An anthropological journey into native Brazilian culture. The starting point is the Taru Andé Festival of Indigenous Cultures, which takes place in the region of Serra do Cipó and brings together tribes from several regions of the country. The first episode deals with this festival, conceived in 1998 by a native chief Ailton Krenak, who provides the film’s commentary. The three episodes introduce us to several Brazilian tribes. Dances, beliefs and life style, language, cooking and religion are among the themes that Ailton explores in each episode. The film visits a dozen villages inhabited by different ethnic groups.
