Nadine Trintignant
Nadine Marquand-Trintignant has a unique place in the French film scene. When she directed her first film in 1967, at the age of 33, filmmaking in France, with the exception of Agnès Varda, was a male-dominated profession. Another characteristic, she belonged to a movie family that included Jean-Louis Trintignant, her first husband, their actress daughter Marie Trintignant who died tragically in 2003, her son, Vincent, an assistant director, director Alain Corneau, her current companion, and her actor brothers, Serge and Christian Marquand. The latter, a leading actor in the 50s, now deceased, helped her get started. In film after film, Nadine Trintignant has given us the audiovisual chapters of an original and personal oeuvre that has remained consistent in the course of a 40-year career.
