From Sarajevo to Jerusalem, by way of Lebanon and Turkey, the film introduces us to forgotten or ignored populations, the Muslims of the Balkans and the Christians of the East. Both these peoples have lived under the Ottoman yoke for several centuries. They have also endured ordeals and genocide, some of which were totally covered up. In each country, an individual having experienced a tragedy and found within him the way to redemption and progressiveness, tells us his personal story.
