Le Dernier Concert

This is the story of the combat led by France's Lamoureux Orchestra and a world-rank conductor, Yutaka Sado. For almost 25 years now, this symphonic orchestra has enriched audiences with many unforgettable musical moments. But, in 2005, it almost vanished. Last year, the orchestra was plunged into crisis when it lost one of its main sponsors. In the film, we follow the orchestra's rehearsals as they prepare to give a concert at the Théâtre des Champs-Elysées. The musicians had a week to get together and rehearse for a concert which could have been their most beautiful —and their last. A concert during which the gifted Yutaka Sado and his musicians performed Beethoven's Ninth: an ode to joy that stimulated the impassioned musicians, feeding the hope that the Lamoureux Orchestra would be judged on its true worth.
