L'Enfant du secret
Summer 1773. At the chateau, there’s a birthday fête for Justine, Madame de Solar’s daughter, but a child bursts in making strange noises. It’s Guillaume de Solar, a deaf-mute hidden by her mother in a hovel. Found abandoned a few days later in the middle of the countryside, he is taken in by the Abbé de l’Epée, who teaches him sign language, which he was the first to adapt into a system. Now the Abbé, aided by his sister, has a single obsession: communicate with him and learn his secret. He decides to appeal to the courts to punish those who abandoned Joseph and to restore his fundamental rights.
