Kosovo mission inachevéeKosovo Mission Incomplete
In 2006, the UN decided to get history back on track in the Balkans by opening negotiations on the future status of Kosovo. Under international tutelage since 1999, would this province of Serbia, with its majority population of Albanians, get its independence? It is quite likely that the Albanians of Kosovo will continue to reject the proposition of Serbian sovereignty in the region, even symbolic. If the question of Kosovo’s status is one day resolved, will the political will of international diplomacy, in particular, that of Europe, be strong enough to guarantee stability in the region?
