The Hamas’s 25 June 2006 kidnapping of Corporal Gilat Shalit in Gaza, then the Lebanese Hezbollah’s July 12 attack of an Israeli army observation post, had dramatic consequences. Last August 9, just before the cease-fire, Ivan Cerieix and Stephan Villeneuve left for Israel and Lebanon, respectively, to meet the civilians, all origins combined, who are the victims of this new conflict. On both sides of the front lines, the divisions and suffering are deep, the mutual defiance now seem at its peak. In addition to the spectacular images of buildings being blown up, this film presents the two points of view that allow the viewer to form an opinion, and this despite the “media war” that exists on both sides.
