Ils étaient enfants soldats
Born in Cameroon, 19-year-old Wilfried is a student in Grenoble. In 2004, he went with Unicef to meet former child soldiers of the Democratic Republic of Congo. It was a vivid experience. He found among these younger boys "an unthinkable coldness, they felt no shame in describing their lives, no modesty. And yet they were talking about rape, drugs, some had even killed members of their own family." Today, as Unicef is ready to let us enter its reinsertion centers for ex-child soldiers in Liberia, Wilfried decided to go back into the field, to compare his memories of recently demobilized children with a new reality: that of reinsertion.
