États généraux
With his clear-eyed gaze and enigmatic smile, the boyish-looking man contrasts with the hard-nosed, prolific creative artist. For the past 20 years, choreographer Philippe Saire has staged dozens of dance pieces and his company has given more than 650 performances around the world. Winner of several awards in Switzerland and abroad, he received le Prix suisse de la danse et de la chorégraphie for the ensemble of his work in 2004. This film is a portrait of Saire, artist-observer of the contemporary stage; it casts a different light on this still misunderstood, even inaccessible art called modern dance.
