Desert Blues
An intimate musical journey deep into modern-day Mali, under the guidance of puppet master Yaya Coulibaly. Michel Jaffrennou tells a musical tale with three of the great Malian artists: Habib Koité, Afel Bocoun and the Taureg women’s group, Tartit. Hailing from different ethnic groups, each of these artists illustrates the influence of the Sahara on the musical traditions of its people.
