In 1994 six friends created The Pearl Fishers, a production company that soon became the most successful player in Belgian TV history. In 2000, one of them, Jan De Ridder, withdrew 100 million Belgian Francs from the company account and disappeared into thin air. Shortly after that, The Pearl Fishers filed for bankruptcy. Five years later, Jan’s younger brother Piet is making a documentary about the rise and fall of the company and his brother’s mysterious disappearance. He invites the original members and former friends of The Pearl Fishers to a remote house, hoping to find an answer to the questions that have driven them apart and haunted them ever since.
