It is the first video document considering the career of Claudio Abbado through his work with youth orchestras. An exceptional interview of the great musical conductor including musical excerpts, which relates the artistic life of brilliant musicians belonging to some of these orchestras and their great friendship with Claudio Abbado. It was actually at the end of 1978 that the European Community Youth Orchestra (ECYO) was founded and that the conductor started to work with the youth. He also recounts his experience in Venezuela where youth orchestras are very numerous and popular. Claudio Abbado admits that young musicians gave him strength and that music was the most effective medicine for him when he fell badly ill in 2000.
