Christian Lapie, des jours et des lunes
Christian Lapie is a world-rank artist. For the past decade, he has been installing his treated oak sculptures around the world, works that address our individual and collective memory. In 2005, the Jaipur Virasat Foundation in India and the Amis du Jaipur Assocation in France invited Lapie to create a new work in Rajasthan, in stone. It was a long-term commission that lasted a year: a year of discovery, hope and discouragement, during which the artist continually had second thoughts about the work, but in the end, he had the pleasure of seeing his sculpture rise in the Jaipur night. The film explores this human endeavor, the encounter with another race and the exploration of new artistic material.
