Chamane des Andes

Shaman in the Andes

When Mario Hata returns from fishing, he offers something to Lake Titicaca in order to appease its spirit. This is how American Indians see their relationship with Nature: a permanent give and take that makes it all work. Mario is the shaman of the village, its spiritual leader. Old legends tell that shamans are direct spiritual descendents of the first people living in the Andes after the Deluge. They carry forward old traditions and know how to guide and heal their people. Today, a divine message tells Mario that it is time to look for his successor. He starts the long journey, looking here and there for further signs that point the way, until he finally finds his apprentice.
