Bora pod okupacijomBora During the Occupation
World War I, Serbia 1916. Borislav Stankovic, the renowned Serbian author, has just returned to Belgrade from internment. Soon afterwards, he is asked by the editor of the Belgrade News – Croatian writer Milan Ogrizovic – to write for the literary supplement of this daily, instituted by the Occupation authorities. The Serbian public and the Belgrade middle-class in particular, never forgave Bora Stankovic for accepting such collaboration. Bora pod okupacijom is not only an account about Serbia and Borislav Stankovic during the Occupation period, it is also the metaphor for the confrontation between decision-makers and creators.
