Bienvenue au Cabaret
After conquering the United States, Spain and the Netherlands, Sam Mendes’s production of Cabaret arrives in Paris. Since the revival of this famous 60s Broadway musical, the show has had thousands of performances around the world. As the sets go up at the Folies Bergère, more than 2,500 artists apply for roles and 400 receive auditions held in Paris. During the casting, they must display their multiple talents as singers, dancers, actors and musicians. The subject of this documentary is not the show itself, but the autonomous micro-society in the wings of this musical.
