Wasser unterm Hammer

H2O Up for Sale

Water—the origin of life. Health and well-being is highly dependent on the quality of drinking water. But since European communities sink further into debt and the EU pushes toward liberalization, the privatization of the "liquid of life" inevitably moves closer. The film H20 Up for Sale shows against the background of English experiences how the privatization of the blue gold happens in different German towns. The results are everywhere the same: thousands of jobs have been terminated, costs have been cut, efficiency increased but the community has to carry the costs of unemployment. So, is it really effective to save on the investments? For the profit, absolutely! But for the quality of the water?
