Vienne 1900 - Klimt, Schiele, Moser et Kokoschka
A good part of our culture today was born in Vienna. This modernity transpires in the paintings of Klimt, Schiele, Moser and Kokoschka, four Viennese painters who in the early 20th century got together to pictorially translate their wealth of invention in a movement called "Sezession." These four painters were complementary: the sensuality of Klimt, a kind of unifying elder, allowed the provocation of Schiele, the violence of Kokoshka and the inventiveness of Moser to bloom. Valérie Manuel illustrates the essence of this period with the use of short texts by Viennese writers whose modern style reflects the contemporary period.
