Just after the fall of the Ceaucescu dictatorship, a new party came to power. Its obvious intention was to maintain those from the former nomenclature in the new governmental infrastructure. So the revolt of the Romanians continued. Hundreds of young people occupied the center of Bucharest for two months, demonstrating against this new regime. Finally, those in power found the solution: stirring up the miners from Valea Jiului against the demonstrators. Why the miners? The film documents the causes and the effects of this action called "Mineraida" or "the miners' government".
