Jenny and Michael, a happily married couple, and their 7 year old son Tim live in a nice house in the suburbs. Sandra and her husband Günther have moved into their neighbourhood just recently and Jenny helps them to settle in. Tim and Sandra’s little daughter Luzi are both classmates and playmates. One day, Tim and Luzi go secretly in the woods to play. Tim comes back home on his own and Luzi is found dead. Several indications seem to indicate that Tim is somehow connected to Luzi’s death. In order to protect her son, Jenny decides to lie and forbids him to tell anyone what happened, not even his father, who is a police detective and is in charge of the case. However, Tim’s teacher, Mrs Pötter, perceives Tim’s changed behaviour and starts worrying about him. She asks Jenny to come into school for a talk. But Jenny pretends she cannot see any strange behaviour in her son. Then, Mrs. Pötter discovers that Tim keeps hiding in the changing rooms during school breaks. Again she asks Jenny to come and meet her and she urges her to bring Tim to a psychologist. Jenny pretends to agree.
