Tribute to Charlie Parker

The life of Charlie Parker reads like a book, a roman noir written in hellish tempo. Virtuoso saxophonist and composer, he died prematurely at the age of 35 in 1955, leaving behind him a considerable body of work. Parker invented another way of playing and resisting. In a society that turned a blind eye to lynching, be-bop became a rallying sign. This film is a musical testimony of prestigious artists, invited to the Marciac Jazz Festival to commemorate the 50th anniversary of his death and to perform his work. This film is also a personal account of the life of Charlie Parker by musicians who knew him.
