Probably no substance concerns as many human beings as cotton. The populations of all countries wear it and some one billion men, women and children work at cultivating, picking, weaving or assembling it. So if we follow the cotton trail, from bush to garment, it allows us to learn a good deal about our planet. From Africa to Asia, via North America, South America and Europe, our film is an intentionally subjective journey into the world of cotton, which attempts to look past the often dizzying and rarely innocent murkiness of an environment interlaced with lobbies, speculators, States and unions.
