Erri De Luca, the Neapolitan writer, is usually reluctant to give interviews, especially on camera. On the rare occasions he does consent, he imposes clear restrictions. Those familiar with him are well aware of the “political” De Luca who has never renounced his revolutionary militant past, the writer of tales of memory, his translations and commentaries on the Old Testament, and the mountaineer, but know little or nothing about his private life. This documentary retraces his steps, reconstructing the life of a nomad of the spirit, an eclectic who has crammed many experiences into his just over fifty years.
