Simone et Jean
Simone Valère and Jean Desailly met in 1946 when Jean-Louis Barrault and Madeleine Renaud established their theatrical troop and called upon them. Their meeting marked the beginning of a theatrical adventure lasting twenty years and a love story still alive today. Camera-in-hand, Jean filmed the troop from its most intimate moments to its triumphant tours throughout the world, and the footage he shot constitutes an extraordinary testimony of the artistic life of those years. With this film, Simone and Jean offer us images never shown before and tell their lives as actors, and as collaborators with major artists of the century, until they parted from Madeleine and Jean-Louis in 1968.
