Literature Alive is a 26-part documentary series that profiles Caribbean-Canadian authors and follows the evolution of Caribbean heritage fiction from the 1960s through to the hip-hop generation. In Coming Home, Indo-Caribbean writer Ramabai Espinet launches her internationally acclaimed novel, The Swinging Bridge, in the city of San Fernando, Trinidad—both the setting of the book, and Ramabai's childhood home. What was planned as a "simple, nostalgic trip" soon becomes a fascinating journey into a sensitive and brilliant writer's personal history and cultural heritage.
