For more than 20 years, Hans Ulrich Shwaar, now 84, has been living among the Sami people in northern Finland. The Sami Lisakki-Matias Syväjärvi, owner of the largest reindeer herd, was initially this retired teacher’s host. The meeting of two worlds, two cultures and two men allows us to discover the things they have in common, but also tensions, contrasts and conflicts. This documentary follows the two men through the seasons and gives us insights into the everyday activities and special events in the lives of the Sami.
