"N'oubliez pas Pierrot !"
The Smokin’ Fuzz: nine musicians who live in the greater Paris suburbs, between fishing trips and bistrots-rounds. If they are not completely professional, they aspire to become so. Their music is a mix of ska, reggae, and rocksteady that they perform on the circuit of small festivals and restaurants. When they don’t live with their parents like Matthias and Alban, they have a steady job. Pierrot is a Math teacher, heckled by his students. Julien holds the exhausting job of municipal gardener. As for Cyril, the group’s leader, he alternates between short-term factory contracts and stints on unemployment, when he is able to more fully devote himself to the promotion of the “Smokin’ Fuzz.” Their meeting with the producer of the music label Big 8 has proved to be pivotal in their history. The producer refuses to sign them before they have improved their act. What is being demanded of them has created havoc in their professional and personal lives. Their dream is within arm’s reach. But they must choose between the uncertainty of tomorrow and the comfort of remaining amateurs... A fiction inspired by reality, in which the band members play themselves.
