Mon papa en guerre
A poignant and little-known aspect of history: the correspondence between children and their fathers, soldiers in World War I. "My daddy at war,” is the address written on an envelop by a seven-year-old boy to his father, who went off to war two years earlier. These boys and girls are 5, 10 and 15 years old. The names of some have become well-known, like Françoise Dolto, Jean Zay. We look at History here through the eyes of these children who, deprived of their loved one, described their lives in French cities and villages. The fathers expressed their tenderness and love, their fears as well.
