Mister Tony Blair
In 1997 Tony Blair became Prime Minister with a great majority. The voters regarded him as a new and young type of politician emerging from the middle class. In 2005 Blair seems to have lost much of his support. What has happened? Since the British participation in the Iraq war he has become increasingly unpopular. Sabine Reifenberg and Uwe Schwering have closely watched the life and political work of Britain's Prime Minister since he came into power and show how he has changed and who has influenced him. Those are essentially three persons: Cherie, the woman by his side, Gordon Brown, party internal rival and architect of the British economic boom, and the American president George W. Bush.
