Merzuga
"Merzuga is a tiny village in Morocco, on the border of the desert. The town has not been influenced by the winds of civilization. South of Merzuga you will only find endless dry oases, sand-filled, abandoned earthen houses and endless dunes. Sometimes, the inhabitants of Merzuga visit the markets of neighbouring villages, but only rarely get as far as a big city. But they don't pine for cities. The film shows the people of Merzuga engaged in daily activities: baking bread, fetching water, cleaning up after their camels. But we have also asked them to sit down with us in the Sahara and talk about the desert, to tell us their stories, to sing Berber songs and ballads."
