The life of Manès Sperber whose main work, Like a Tear in the Ocean, received the Friedenspreis des Deutschen Buchhandels award in 1983. In search of the traces of Sperber’s life, the film travels to Zablotow (Ukraine), Vienna, Berlin, Zurich and Paris. The footage is accompanied by Sperber’s autobiographical texts, which give the film a poetic and literary dimension.
