Mag Bodard, un destin
Portrait of Mag Godard, grande dame of film and television. Married to writer Lucien Bodard, whom she followed to Indochina, she then became a journalist. She met press baron Pierre Lazareff, became his second in command and moved into film production. She made her name with films by Jacques Demy, Godard, Agnès Varda, Claude Miller, Alain Resnais and Maurice Pialat. When Lazareff died in 1972, she found all doors closed to her. Claude Barma, in charge of series for public broadcaster Antenne 2, took her on to produce Les Dames de la côte and L’Allée du roi. This documentary portrait, which uses an interview with Mag Bodard on the soundtrack, includes interviews with those talents whose careers she helped launch: Fanny Ardant, Bernard Giraudeau and Nina Companeez.
