Le Voyageur de la Toussaint

On the eve of All Saints’ Day, Gilles Mauvoisin sets out for Dunkirk after the accidental death of his parents. He learns that his deceased Uncle Octave left him his fortune and his shipyards, on the condition that he reside the house where he had lived with Colette, his widow. But Gilles’ arrival upsets the plans of certain worthy persons, who try to influence the young man against Colette. Gentle and sensitive, she is the opposite of her dead husband, a cold and manipulating man who reigned over these worthy persons by accumulating proofs, hidden in his safe, of their base acts. In this stifling atmosphere where Gilles’ every move is closely watched, the vice draws increasingly tighter around Colette…
