In search of the grandchildren of the one they called the “old man.” We meet the great nephew of Leon Trotski, the only remaining survivor of the Trotski family in Russia; a militant for Israeli peace with his Palestinian opposite number, two Brazilian “Catholic Trotskyists” and the leader of the subway workers of Buenos Aires. This film juxtaposes these militants’ past and present through their testimonies and rare documents. Thus, the gesture, actions and modernity of the Trotskyists are shown, underlining the amazing vitality and the metamorphosis that this movement has shown since the fall of the Berlin Wall and the disappearance of the USSR.
