La Veillée des abysses
In 1998, The Junebug Symphony, the first show by James Thiérrée, won over audiences. A few years later, Bright Abyss was a triumph. It begins with an evocation of eolian power. The wind blows mightily. Six individuals fight against this hurricane which buries them beneath a white sea and sweeps them away to an intermediary world where nothing is in its place, especially not the center of gravity. So everything is mixed up, objects slip away, are transformed, and humans fly off. With dazzling imagination and cheerful freedom, Thiérrée celebrates the nuptials of humor and poetry, mingling circus and theater techniques.
