Francis Heaulme is in prison. Found guilty on nine counts of murder, he was acquitted for a 10th affair, and 11th charge was dismissed for lack of evidence. Step by step, the film follows an investigation that lasted more than seven years. His defense attorney, Liliane Glock, readily says that he has a place nowhere: neither among the criminals, nor among the lunatics. The same goes for Jean-François Abgrall who more than anyone knows how dangerous Heaulme is, since he investigated him for years. This film attempts to cast a light on the shadow zones that remain along Heaulme’s bloody road.
