Kigali, des images contre un massacreReturn to Kigali
"On the 8th June 1994, while filming a report in the hope of alerting the public to the massacres being carried out by Hutus in Rwanda, I found myself caught up in a massacre. I owe my salvation to the fact that I was a Western journalist. Ten years later, I went back. I took some of the footage I shot in 1994 with me, to show to the inhabitants of Father Blanchard's parish in Nyamirambo, where the massacre took place. As people watched the footage, they gradually began to talk. The voices heard throughout the film are those of the men and women I met in Kigali during the genocide of 1994. They were all directly confronted with the Rwanda tragedy. They will all bear the scar forever." (Jean-Christophe Klotz)
