Karli Jalangu: Boomerang Today
Four senior traditional central desert men, who carry a lot of law, create a "Number 7" boomerang. How do you make boomerangs today while keeping law and culture strong? We follow the hunt for the wood, the rubbing, the shaping, the smoothing and the ochre, noting the cultural significance of the work and implements, until the Number 7 is completed and singing. As Crook Hat and Camphoo, Karli Jalangu is part of the Nganampa Anwernekenhe series, the only Aboriginal language program produced by and broadcast to Aboriginal people.
