Hitler’s visit to Italy in May 1938 represents an episode of our recent history that has impressed our collective memory. Thanks to a long research in the Historical Archives of the Istituto Luce the whole event has been reconstructed giving importance to the most “uncomfortable” aspects and revealing the less known backlights. It allows to fully understand the relationships between the Italian Fascism and the German Nazism, the progressive braking of the European equilibrium and the increasing perplexity among the Italian public opinion and the internal “moods” present in the Italian Fascism.
