The hospital is a world which we all must enter one day or other. A place where we all find ourselves, briefly or for a long while, face to face with the essential: to live, heal, die. A city within the city, the Hospital is a window on society. It is a complex world under stress, in which skills, vocations and individual lives overlap. Hôtel-Dieu is a four-part documentary series dealing with daily life at the Nantes Teaching Hospital, shot over a year. It seeks to record the realities of hospital world in France today.
