Hanging Shadows
"Italian terror movies, and more generally speaking genre cinema, no longer exist in Italy. So I wanted to put this state of affairs on record. Italian thriller movies had their heyday in the 70s, while horror and fantasy were popular in the 80s and very early 90s. After this period commercial cinema was hit by a huge crisis; directors of international fame disappeared from the screen and now are only heard of in tributes given them by famous directors like Scorsese and Tarantino. This documentary is an attempt to reconstruct some aspects of the last twenty years of Italian fantasy cinema through the words of some of the well-known professionals who have been landmarks in this movie genre."
