Hakovaim shel yerushalaimHats of Jerusalem
A visitor to the old city of Jerusalem is struck by the immense variety of people of various nations, colours, and religions thronging the narrow alleys. Their colorful head-dresses, floating above the crowd, add to the variety. Each hat serves not only as protection against the weather. It is an identity card, a religious or political statement, and a product of many centuries of tradition. It is a film about external appearances and internal identities, about the material world and the spiritual one, about the physical and the metaphysical. It is a film about people who live in Jerusalem, because the city brings them closer to their beliefs and the inner truth they seek, each in his or her own way.
