Gambit
When chemist Jörg Sambeth took up his post as technical director at Givaudan, part of the Swiss Hoffmann-La Roche conglomerate, he was shocked by conditions at some of the factories in his charge. In 1976, an explosion took place at the small Icmesa plant, in the northern Italian town of Seveso. Toxic matter flowed out of one of the reactors and triggered a dioxin disaster that affected people and environment. Sambeth was accused of willfully neglecting to implement safety measures and was sentenced to a five year prison term. Will he take on the conglomerate?
