Kibbutz Eshbal in Galilee, established in 1998 as an educational centre, runs a boarding school for adolescents who have been expelled from other educational institutions. At Eshbal, Baruch, Ora, Moshe and Yael, first-generation immigrants from Ethiopia, receive counselling by Yoav and Vickie, kibbutz members who believe that education can make a difference. While documenting life on a secluded hill in Galilee, the film portrays committed kibbutz youngsters and alienated youths, each striving, in their own way, for a place within Israeli society.
